The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sent a message of congratulations to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, on the occasion of his enstoolment as the 16th King of Asante.
The message, which was contained in a statement issued and signed by Mr Philip Edward Kwabena Antwi, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, wished the Asantehene long life, good luck and a successful reign.
The statement acknowledged that the task ahead of Otumfuo Osei Tutu is not an easy one; it is demanding but expressed optimism that he would prove equal to the task and bring greater honour to Asanteman.
They prayed that the Otumfuo would ensure that “perfect peace prevails in the region as and when party politics vis-a-vis electioneering campaign starts”.
The statement added that “Asanteman should no more be a region of political violence starters or campaigners”.
