NDC sacks former Ashaiman vice chairman

A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for Ashaiman, Anthony Afenyo, has been sacked from the party.

This follows his decision to go independent after he lost the NDC parliamentary primaries to the incumbent MP, Alfred Agbesi.

Mr. Afenyo once served as the party’s vice chairman for the Ashaiman constituency. XYZ NEWS gathers that appeals made to him to rescind his decision proved futile.

Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the NDC Anthony Nukpenu told XYZ NEWS Mr. Afenyo’s dismissal is in line with the party’s constitution.

He said Mr. Afenyo has declined to meet any official of the party and the party has decided to apply the constitution to the letter.

Anthony Afenyo however told XYZ NEWS he is not perturbed by his dismissal from the NDC.**
