NDC retains Wassa Amenfi Central parliamentary seat

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) retained the Wassa Amenfi Central parliamentary seat with 21,149 of the valid votes cast on Friday, December 7.

Mr George Kofi Arthur, Member of Parliament whipped his closest opponent, Eric Magnus Wilmot of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who polled 16,871 votes whilst Benjamin Asmah of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) had 555 votes.

The total votes cast were 39,471 out of which 38,575 were valid and 896 rejected ballots.

In the presidential race, the NDC polled 22,439, Great Consolidated People’s Party; 177, NPP; 15,037,PPP;211,Unted Front Party; 28,Peoples National Congress; 56, Convention People’s Party, 64 and the independent candidate 42.

A total of 39,464 votes were cast out of which 38,054 were valid whilst 1,410 were rejected.
