NDC Parliamentary aspirant for New Juaben North to reduce poverty

Mr Isaac Livingstone Asamoah, an educationist, aspiring for the New Juaben North Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said he would help minimize poverty in the area, when given the nod.

He said even though poverty could not be eradicated completely from the society, he would work hard to minimize it by creating a “revolving fund” for market women and traders in the area to help them acquire loans to start and expand their businesses.

He said he would also establish an educational fund to help sponsor science students who were “needy but brilliant” to further their education and a health fund to aid the registration of people under the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Mr Asamoah who was speaking to the GNA at the constituency office at Effiduase, a suburb of Koforidua, when he was filling his nomination, appealed to delegates to vote for him after he had gone through the process so that his vision would materialise.

He urged delegates to vote for someone who would serve them but not someone whom they would serve.

He called on delegates and his sympathizers to avoid insults so that they would all come out united after the primaries.

Ammo Ibrahim, Constituency Secretary of the NDC, cautioned delegates and aspirants to note that it was an inter-party contest and they should therefore go about their campaign in a manner that would bring unity in the party instead of tearing it apart.

He advised them to stay united to campaign for a resounding victory in the 2012 elections.
