NDC members urged not to sell their conscience

Nkoranza (B/A), May 24, GNA – Mr Thomas Owusu-Ansah, Secretary of the Nkoranza South Constituency branch of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged members of the Party not to sell their conscience by taking gifts and bribes from other parties in order to vote for them during the December general election.

He was addressing a meeting of Executives of the Party in the constituency at Nkoranza during which members discussed how to win the two parliamentary seats in the Nkoranza District.

The District now has two constituencies, the North with Busunya as the headquarters and the South with Nkoranza as the headquarters. The NDC Secretary said a rumour had gained grounds at the Secretariat that some NDC members had collected monies from leaders of some political parties ostensibly to win them to their fold.

Mr Owusu-Ansah expressed concern about the trend, saying the unruly behaviour of some members ostensibly to break the front of the Party, had lent credence to the rumour.

“Any NDC member who will decide to break the camp of the Party with any diabolical intentions would be dealt with according to the constitutional regulations of the Party”, he warned The Constituency Secretary called on members to remain committed and faithful so that they could vote massively to enable the NDC to win back power.

He asked Ghanaians to vote out the New Patriotic Party since it had not been able to fulfil its 2000 campaign promises. “As prices of items including cement and roofing materials continue to rise, the people of Ghana should know that nothing has changed after the NDC government”, Mr Owusu-Ansah said. 24 May 04
