NDC members advised against loitering at centres after voting

Kumasi, Dec. 1, GNA – Members and sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been advised against waiting or loitering around polling centres after casting their votes on the Election Day. A release issued in Kumasi on Wednesday by the Executive Committee of the Asawasi NDC, said instead of loitering round the centres, they should withdraw to their home and to return only at the close of polls to observe and monitor counting of the ballots and declaration of results.

Alhaji Gado Suleimana, Constituency Chairman and Mr Salifu Boarle, the Constituency Secretary, jointly signed the release.

The release also entreated them to demonstrate their maturity and affection for multi-party democracy by comporting themselves and refraining from any acts that could mar the electoral process or tarnish the good image of the NDC.

It noted that security was crucial for successful conduct of the elections and, therefore, called on all members to give maximum cooperation to the security services and the Electoral Commission by exposing and reporting any characters, who would try to cause any troubles on the Election Day.

The release also stressed the need for the EC to ensure that all registered voters, who turned out to vote were given the opportunity to do so without any obstruction from any quarters.

“You should also resolve, in spite of all odds to turn out massively and in your numbers to cast your votes on the Election Day,” the statement said.
