NDC leadership assures members to remain calm

Accra, July 9, GNA – The Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday, appealed to members and sympathisers to remain calm in order not to jeopardise the consultative process to ensure Former President Jerry John Rawlings and his family are housed in a befitting manner as soon as practicable.

The appeal was made in a statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the party, after an emergency meeting between the Functional Executive Committee and President John Evans Atta Mills on Thursday to discuss the matter.

It said based on the evidence and facts made available at the meeting, some conclusions were reached and that the peculiar nature of the problem presented significant challenges which were appreciated by everyone connected with the problem.

“Government’s efforts made so far to address these challenges is commendable,” the statement added.
