NDC illegally distributed government lands – Peter Amewu

The ministry of lands says it will be investigating all processes that went into the sale of government lands under the erstwhile Mahama administration.

Sector minister, John Peter Amewu several government lands were given out under controversial means during the Mahama administration making the case for massive investigations into the sale of all such lands.

According to the minister, the government is gathering the needed information regarding the illicit sale of these state lands which were “given away like kelewele (fried plantain)”. The revelation by the minister follows other moves by the government to clamp down on the menace of land guards across various lands.

The phenomenon of Land Guards in Ghana has led to the loss of many lives, whiles several others have been injured.

Some land guards are said to have the firm support of powerful individuals within the security agencies, government, and judiciary services, for which reason most of them are barely punished for the heinous crimes they commit.
