NDC group commends President for sacking DCE

Effiduase (Ash) Jan 20, GNA – A group of supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Effiduase-Asokore constituency had commended President John Evans Atta Mills for removing Mr Kwadwo Addae as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere East. They said his removal was timely and would save the party from further division.

Addressing a press conference at Effiduase on Wednesday, Mr Murtala Osman, the Asokore Zongo Organizer and spokesperson, said they were happy that the President has responded to the concerns raised by the people on the ground.

He said since the announcement of the dismissal of Mr Addae, some members of the party, who left because of the “divide and rule tactics of the DCE”, are now returning to the fold of the NDC. Mr Murtala said their prayer is that the person appointed to the position would be dedicated, hardworking and display good human relations to bring all the factions together to work for the growth and development of the party and the district.

He appealed to the President to hasten the appointment process to put to rest the current manoeuvring and intense lobbying, which is creating anxiety among the party members. Mr Murtala said the party would cooperate and support whoever is named the new DCE.
