The Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Honorable Dickson Kyere Duah (Stuguard), has disclosed the NDC government’s plans to establish a sanitation court aimed at addressing and resolving issues related to sanitation in order to mitigate the improper disposal of refuse within the country.
During an address to his constituents following a cleanup exercise in his constituency, the MP emphasized that an unhygienic environment hampers development and progress due to infections caused by filth. Consequently, the NDC government is making efforts to eradicate poor sanitation by proposing the establishment of a specialized judicial body to handle sanitation-related matters. Furthermore, the MP, in collaboration with the Berekum West District Assembly, intends to implement stringent by-laws against improper waste disposal to ensure that the Berekum West District becomes one of the cleanest districts in the nation.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Berekum West, Honorable Collins Asumah, urged the constituents of Berekum West to consistently support the clean-up initiatives and activities that will be organized within the district to promote effective sanitation and hygiene. Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to the participants who contributed to the clean-up exercise.
