NDC fingers Mike Ocquaye in rigging plot

The ruling National Democratic Congress has accused some top members of the opposition New Patriotic Party of attempting to influence some members of the Electoral Commission to rig the upcoming elections in favour of the NPP.

At a press conference held Monday at the head office of the NDC, alleged voice clips of Mike Ocquaye and Lord Commey were played to the media.

In the voice clip which is yet to be authenticated, the two NPP men can be heard in a conversation with an EC official in a bid to manipulate some results from some constituencies in favour of the NPP.

National Organiser of the party Kofi Adams said the party is yet to forward the voice to the Police CID for further investigations. Mr. Adams also said an official complaint will be lodged with the Electoral Commission.

The voice which has not been given to media is yet to be authenticated.

The ruling party ends its campaign today with a mammoth rally at the Accra Sports Stadium which will be addressed by the President John Mahama and founder of the party Jerry John Rawlings.

John Mahama Campaign spokesperson, Joyce Bawa Mogtari on her part said the campaign has been very effective and successful. She said the NDC is poised for victory in the December 7 polls.
