Presidential staffer Samuel George has alleged that Greater Accra regional executives of the ruling party openly showed bias against his candidature in the just ended parliamentary primaries of the party.
George defeated veteran politician E.T Mensah in the Ningo-Prampram contest on Sunday.
The controversial young politician won the polls with 4910 votes representing 63.5% as against the former Sports minister E.T Mensah’s 2831 representing 36.5% of total votes cast.
The internal poll was marred by chaos on Saturday following allegations of attacks by both camps, forcing the elections to be suspended.
The Greater Accra regional chair of the umbrella family Ade Coker is on record to have described George as “infantile” when he raised concerns over the voters’ register.
Speaking to Accra-based Asempa FM Monday, the Ningo-Prampram parliamentary candidate-elect said even though the regional executives of the NDC treated him unfairly, he is willing to work with them for the party to retain power in the 2016 election.
“Some of them showed their open bias against me in the various radio interviews they granted but that is irrelevant now. I am willing to work with them for the party to retain power and to ensure a wider margin for President John Mahama in the 2016 elections,” he said.
