NDC elects parliamentary candidate for Asunafo North

Mim (B/A) Aug. 23, GNA – The Asunafo North National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives has by popular acclamation, endorsed Mrs Christiana Atakorah Mensah, a former Human Resource Director of the Mim Timber Company, as the Parliamentary Candidate for the 2004 Elections. Officials of the Electoral Commission and the Party’s Regional Executives witnessed the endorsement.

Mr Mohammed Kwaku Doku, Brong Ahafo Regional Secretary of the Party, expressed appreciation to the delegates.

He said: “There is every indication that the NDC will come back to power to continue from where it left off four years ago.”

The Regional Secretary warned against petty squabbles among members, saying such behaviour could break the Party’s front. Mrs Mensah thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to work diligently for victory in December. She appealed to supporters to intensify their campaign to win more members into the Party’s fold.

In a related development, Mr Eric Opoku, a 34-year-old Graduate, was elected unopposed as the Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the newly created Asunafo South Constituency.
