NDC elect candidates for Bosome-Freho and Asante-Akim North

Asiwa (Ash), Sept 11, GNA – Mr Kwame Adarkwa, 44, a farmer, was on Friday has been elected the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Bosome-Freho constituency in the 2004 General Election.

His election that was by acclamation at the party’s constituency delegates’ conference at Asiwa was supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Mr Adarkwa promised to lead the party to wrestle the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the December polls and appealed to members of the Party to support him achieve his objective. Mr Daniel Ohene Agyekum, a member of the party’s National Executive, called for hard work and sacrifice from the supporters to ensure victory for the NDC and also asked them to undertake a house-to-house campaign.

Mr Yaw Owusu Obimpeh, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, appealed to politicians to be civil during their electioneering campaigns and to preserve the peace and stability in the country. At another NDC primary organized at Konongo, Mr T.O. Bonsu Nkansah, a teacher, polled 65 votes to beat Mr Oti Akenten, his only challenger, who had 14 votes to become the party’s parliamentary candidate for Asante-Akim North.

He thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and asked them to rally solidly behind him to enable them to win the seat.
