NDC doesn’t think clear on economic issues – Bawumia

Dr. Bawumia has again reiterated the need to restore allowances allocated to trainee teachers and nurses.

Speaking to students of the St. Theresa’s College of Education in Hohoe, the Vice-Presidential Dr. Bawumia insisted that the allocation of the allowances is non-negotiable and is critical to developing the quality human resource needed in Ghana to succeed in the competitive global community.

According to him, the decision by the governing National Democratic Congress to cancel teacher training allowances is a misguided policy and “was done without any clear thinking”.

“It was done in response to the economic mess that the government has gotten this economy into. You can’t punish teacher trainees for your economic mismanagement”.
