NDC Congress underway; Rawlings breaks protocol

Former President Rawlings today, Saturday December 20 broke protocol after he appeared at the 8th Congress of the National Democratic Congress minutes after both President John Mahama and his Vice Kwesi Amissah Arthur had arrived for the ceremony.

President Mahama and his Vice both arrived ahead of the party founder who according to official party arrangement was billed to arrive before the two.

Both Mr Rawlings and President Mahama are expected to address delegates at the ceremony.

However, candidates and ministers will not be allowed to address delegates before voting.

Over 4,000 delegates of the party are voting today, Saturday December 20 to elect new national executives to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Among the key positions being contested for are, the National chairman, General Secretary, National organiser, vice chairmen, deputy general secretary, and propaganda secretary.
