NDC can get tapes of Akufo-Addo’s secret meetings

A Deputy Communications Director of the governing National Democratic Congress [NDC], Fred Agbenyo has stated categorically that, his party is capable of getting any tape recording of secret meetings of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the NDC has spies all over and can even produce controversial tapes of NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo from his “bedroom” meetings if needed.

Fred Agbenyo was speaking on Adom FM on an alleged secret tape circulating on social media which is believed to be the voice of former Finance Minister in the erstwhile Kufuor administration, Yaw Osafo-Marfo.

The tape, which contains a male voice resembling Osafo-Marfo’s, was recently unearthed, and is heard telling a gathering at Koforidua that: “…You have all the resources, but you have no say in the management of your resources, and that is what is happening. Your development depends on the one who has no resources.”

But a press statement released from the office of the former Flagbearer-aspirant, and signed by his Special Assistant Emmanuel Bediako Mamfe said: “Our attention has been drawn to an alleged tape recording of a meeting in Koforidua held on the 29th January, 2015. At this meeting, Hon. Yaw Osafo-Maafo made several remarks on the state of the Ghanaian economy, on political strategy and on economic and political empowerment.”

“Subsequently, some of his remarks have been distorted as advocating tribal or ethnic sentiments, trying to create the impression that he is a tribalist. In all his public life, he have striven to do what is right for Ghana and not for any sectional interest”.

But Fred Agbenyo, who refused to admit that the NDC released and doctored Mr. Marfo’s tape noted that, he has a full transcript of the tape.

Nonetheless, he opined that the NDC “can get secret tape recordings anytime from the NPP camp. We can even get recordings of Nana Addo’s bedroom meetings with his party members as well.”
