Koforidua, Oct. 19, GNA – The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has adopted a system known as “Constitution Games” to help make the document simple and interesting to learn. The game has been designed to aid the people in reading and understanding the constitution to stimulate interest on their rights and responsibilities.
According to the Eastern Regional Director of the NCCE, Mr Emmanuel Quaye-Sowah, the game, which was introduced last year become operational through the sponsorship of the United States Embassy this year. He was speaking at the Maiden inter-schools competition on the constitution, organised by the Regional NCCE for ten secondary schools at Koforidua.
According to him, after the Eastern Regional competition, the constitution game would be held in all the ten regions after, which the regional champions would compete at a grand finale. Mr Quaye-Sowah said the game was devised because the NCCE had realised that citizens found it difficult in buying the constitution to read.
The National Deputy Chairman of the NCCE, Ms Doris Ocansey, said it was the basic duty of the commission to ensure that citizens were abreast with the constitution.
