National Democrat Editor invited by Police

Accra, Oct. 5, GNA – The Police Administration on Tuesday invited the Editor of the National Democrat, an Accra Weekly newspaper, to assist in investigations into a publication on the serial killing of women in the country in 2000.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Police Inspector A. K. Arthur on behalf of the Director of Police Public Relations, said: “Following a publication in the October 4 edition of the newspaper linking Dr Kwame Addo-Kufuor, Minister of Defence to the serial killing of women, the Director of CID has sent an invitation to the Editor to assist in investigations”.

It said: “Dr Addo-Kufuor has meanwhile contacted the Inspector General of Police to express his willingness to assist the Police in the investigations.”

“The Police Administration, therefore, requests the Editor of the National Democrat to contact the Deputy Director CID to assist in investigations”, the Statement said.
