Kumasi, Jan 20, GNA-Alhaji Dr Amen Bonsu, Deputy National Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, has called on Muslims in the country to pray fervently for other Muslims on pilgrimage to Mecca.
He said as they celebrate the Eid-Ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice back home, they should remember them in prayers so that they fulfil their rituals and return home safely.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after worship to mark the feast in Kumasi on Thursday, Alhaji Bonsu urged other Muslims to share what they will enjoy during the celebration with needy and the deprived. He called on Muslims to sacrifice their resources to support the development of the Islamic religion instead of worldly pleasure.
He stressed the need for Muslim leaders to sit up and map out strategies to end the activities of those determined to undermine the progress of the religion.
Alhaji Bonsu urged Muslim parent to invest in the education of their children so that they come up as useful citizens prepared to help in the development of the religion and the country as a whole. He admonished Muslim young men and women to refrain from promiscuous activities so that they do not contract the HIV/AIDS virus.
