Muslims advised not to make Ramadan a mere annual ritual

Ekumfi Essarkyir (C/R), Nov. 15, GNA – Osofo Abubakar Bin Abdulai, Ekumfi Essarkyir Circuit Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has cautioned Muslims against making the Ramadan fasting a mere annual ritual without considering its positive impact on their lives. Osofo Bin Abdulai said the fasting must be seen as a moral and spiritual training exercise, which should bring some transformation in their lives. They should therefore portray to the outside world that they had been born anew.

The Missionary was delivering a sermon at an open-air service at Ekumfi Essarkyir to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting. He cautioned them against going back to anti social and immoral activities some of them were engaged in before the fasting. Osofo bin Abdulai said one of the tenets of the Ramadan was sacrifice and urged Muslims to show kindness to people who needed their support.

He urged them to play their roles in sustaining the peace the nation was enjoying and prayed that the forthcoming general election would make Ghanaians more united than before.

He also prayed for the well being of members of government and leaders of political parties.

At a similar function at Ekumfi Ekrawfo, Maulvi Hameed Ullah Zafar, Principal of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Missionary Training College led the congregation in prayers.
