Municipal Assembly inaugurates HIPC watch committee

Bolgatanga, Aug. 23, GNA- A 15-member HIPC watch committee for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly has been inaugurated in Bolgatanga. The committee will monitor HIPC funded projects within the Municipality. The committee, made up of a cross section of civil societies will feed its focal NGO, the Centre for Sustainable Development Initiative (CENSUDI), which in turn, will monitor the Social Enterprise Development (SEND) Foundation of West Africa.

A Deputy Co-ordinating Director of the Bolgatanga Assembly Mr Abdulai Achulo launched the committee and urged members to serve as a guide to the Assembly.

He commended the government for going HIPC saying it has brought direct benefits in infrastructure and helped to stabilise the economy.
