MultiChoice Ghana has declared its full support for the recently introduced DStv value offering spearheaded by Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George.
In a statement issued on October 1, 2025, the company explained that earlier information shared in its Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section online had created “an erroneous impression of a contradiction” concerning the policy, which officially took effect the same day.
“We fully support the joint media statement issued by the Honourable Minister, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, and confirm that implementation of the initiative has already commenced,” MultiChoice stated.
The broadcaster further noted that a committee has been tasked to periodically review the policy’s impact. “As contained in the joint media statement on the value offering, the committee will reconvene in three months to evaluate the impact of this initiative. This will be a recurring exercise,” it said.
MultiChoice also clarified that the new package does not restrict subscriber options. “There is no restriction on a subscriber’s choice of bouquet. The offer is available to existing, returning, and new customers from 1st October 2025,” the statement added.
The company apologized to customers for any earlier confusion caused by its website communication. “We sincerely regret any inconvenience the FAQs may have caused,” it concluded.
The public endorsement follows a joint press briefing involving the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, the National Communications Authority (NCA), MultiChoice Africa, and MultiChoice Ghana, where broader reforms in Ghana’s pay-TV sector were outlined.
