Multi-million hostel for Asesewa community school

Asesewa (E/R), July 1, GNA- A sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a one-billion-cedis two-storey boys hostel for the Asesewa Community Agricultural Day Secondary School was performed at Asesewa in the Manya-Krobo District in the Eastern Region on Wednesday. The ceremony coincided with the inauguration of a 20-million-cedis canteen facility for the school. Both projects are financed by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Gustav Narh Dometey, who performed the ceremonies, expressed the hope that the hostel would accommodate more students.

Mr Dometey was grateful to the community for their interest in the welfare of the school.

He urged the students to use their time profitably and study hard to become useful citizens in future.

The Member of Parliament for the Upper Manya, Mr Stephen Amoanor Kwao, stressed the need for discipline among the students and urged both the tutors and the students to continue to be disciplined and hard working.

He asked them to eschew all forms of social vices that led to waywardness, pre-marital sex, teenage pregnancy and drug addiction. Mr Kwao later donated three computers with accessories, some books and 20 bags of cement towards the project, while Mr Dometey, on behalf of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), pledged 100 bags of cement to the school.

The Headmaster, Mr Charles K. Narh, noted that no country could develop without education and expressed gratitude to the MP and Mr Dometey, the PTA and individuals for their immense contribution towards enhancing good quality education in the school.
