Mpraeso constituency of NDC retains executive

Mpraeso (E/R), Oct. 12, GNA – All but the organizer of the 25-member incumbent Mpraeso constituency executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was returned unopposed at a delegates’ congress at Mpraeso.

Mr Abredu Somuah defeated Mr Kwaku Bamfo by 97 votes to 14 to become the new constituency organizer in the election supervised by the Kwahu South District Electoral Officer, Mr Appiah Agyemang. Addressing the congress, the Eastern Regional Organizer of the party, Mr Bismark Tawiah Boateng, said the NPP government was “leading the country astray,” since development projects such as electricity, water and roads started by the NDC had been abandoned. He advised the supporters of the party to forget the past and intensify their campaign in the rural areas, where the party derived its support for them to win the next election. A National First Vice Chairman of the party, Mr Kwaku Baah said the NPP government had failed to fulfil its electoral promises to solve the unemployment problem, high living standard and the poverty facing the people and urged them to work hard by explaining NDC policies to them to win the 2008 general elections.

He advised them not to be disturbed by the provocative utterances of the NPP supporters.

The constituency chairman, Mr Emmanuel Atta Obeng, alias “Soborae” thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in the executive and assured them of continued dedicated services to win the seat in 2008.
