Mpare named new Secretary to the cabinet

Accra, June 28, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor has appointed Mr Frank Otibu Mpare, Chief Director, Ministry of Defence, as Secretary to the cabinet following the retirement of Mr Annan Cato.

A statement from the Office of the President signed by Mr Kwabena Agyepong, Press Secretary to the President, said President Kufuor had accepted the retirement of Mr Cato after nearly 40 years of dedicated service to Ghana.

It said the President lauded Mr Cato for “his exemplary, devoted and distinguished service to Ghana”.

Mr. Mpare was born in 1946 and is a graduate of the University of Ghana. He has Post-Graduate qualifications in Public Administration, Development Administration, Senior Civil Service Management, Budgeting and Financial Management Practices.

Mr Mpare joined the Civil Service in 1973 and has served in the Central, Ashanti, Volta, Western and Upper East regions. He has also served at the National Board for Small Scale Industries and the Ministry of Roads.
