MP presents items to Akokoaso and Ayirebi SSS

Akyem Akokoase, Dec. 13, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Mr David Oppon Kusi, on Tuesday donated a number of sporting equipment and assorted text books to the Akyem Akokoaso Secondary Technical and the Akyem Ayirebi Senior Secondary Schools in the Birim North District at separate functions. The items valued at more than 28 million cedis, included footballs, set of jerseys, goal post nets, among others.

Presenting the items, Mr Oppon-Kusi said the gesture was his contribution towards promoting sporting activities in the two schools. He charged the students to take sporting activities seriously to exercise the body regularly since “a healthy mind is in a healthy body”.

The MP urged the students to reciprocate the gesture by learning hard to bring laurels to the schools and the district. At Akyem Akokoaso Secondary Technical School, the Headmaster, Mr Ben K. Morkle, thanked the MP for his efforts to provide the school with some of its needs. He said the equipment had come at the right time when the school was in dire need of them and assured him that the items would be put to good use.
