MP for Bantama donates cement to schools

Kumasi, July 18, GNA – Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Member of Parliament for Bantama and Minister-designate for Water Resources, Works and Housing has presented 300 bags of cement worth GH=A2 24,000 (24 million cedis) to some selected schools in the constituency on Monday. The beneficiaries include Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) church and Senior Secondary School, Catholic Primary, Islamic Primary, Ampabame Primary and Ohwim Primary and JSS.

Mr Henry Kwabena Osei, Secretary of Bantama Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP) who presented the cement on behalf of Madam Dapaah said a library estimated at GH=A2 90,000 (900 million cedis)would be constructed for Ampabame M/A primary school this year. He said Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) is financing the project and pledged Government’s commitment to the development of education since it was crucial to socio-economic development of the country.

Mr Osei pledged Madam Dapaah’s support to assist in the provision of facilities in schools and communities within the constituency to enhance teaching, learning and standard of living.

He said the MP had already assisted some schools and communities with building materials, drugs, books, television sets and streetlight bulbs.

Mr J.J. Addai, an elder of Bantama SDA Church who received the items on behalf of the beneficiary institutions expressed appreciation to the MP for the gesture.

He appealed to individuals and organizations to assist Government in the provision of facilities to enhance teaching and learning in schools.
