MP calls for peaceful electioneering campaign

Dwenase (E/R), July 15, GNA – The Member of Parliament (MP) for Fanteakwa, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has reminded supporters of political parties to conduct themselves well before, during and after Election 2004.

He appealed to supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to shun violence and vindictiveness and to focus on issues that would move the nation forward.

“It is not to any one’s benefit when politics becomes an arena for the trading of insults that do not portray the good nature of politics.” Mr Ofosu Ampofo, who is also the National Organizer of the NDC, was speaking at Dwenase in the Fanteakwa constituency after a football gala marking the celebration of this year’s Ohum-Kan festival of the chiefs and people of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area.

He told the people to be objective in their analysis of national events to move the nation forward so that families were not divided on party lines.
