MP begs Mahama: Have pity and reduce fuel prices

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to empathize with Ghana and ensure a drastic reduction in the prices of petroleum products in the country.

Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko pleaded with President Mahama to be considerate towards Ghanaians and put measures in place to curb the current economic situation.

Reports indicate that Commercial banks now sell a dollar for 3 Ghana cedis, which proves that the cedi is gradually soaring high.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Morning Show “Kokrokoo”, Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko was of the view that it would be prudent for President Mahama to reduce the petrol price hikes, vis a vis the new adjustments in the cedi against the dollar rate.

He strongly believed a reduction in petroleum prices will help alleviate the harsh living conditions of Ghanaians.

“We won’t sit on radio and say you’re wicked. We won’t say you don’t care for Ghanaians. We appeal to you to have pity on Ghanaians. We plead with you to reduce petrol [price]. If you reduce petrol, electricity and transport charges will diminish,” he implored President Mahama.
