Mothers’ Day message from First Lady

As we celebrate yet another Mothers’ Day, there will be various gatherings both at home and elsewhere to honour and celebrate mothers for their hard work, love and dedication to their children.

Some other Ghanaians will be honouring persons who are not their biological mothers, but who have filled the all-??important role of a mother in their lives.

Mothers are the homemakers. Mothers inspire us. They work hard and make lots of sacrifices to protect us their children and give us the opportunity to dream big about the future while helping us realize our ambitions.

However old we are, our mothers deserve our gratitude and appreciation for their selfless and unconditional love. Mothers are the sweetest gift from God to us. There is no way we can ever really thank our mothers for all they continue to do for us.

We must continue to remind ourselves of the various sacrifices they make, and keep them in our prayers while also celebrating them. We must reciprocate by respecting and show love to our mothers. It is their day today. Let us celebrate them.

As a mother, I know the challenges and rewards of being both a mentor and a friend to my children. I am especially mindful of the exceptional commitment of single mothers, and mothers with special needs.

I salute all mothers today and I pray that you are able to celebrate with the mothers in your life.

Happy Mothers’ Day!
