Mornah chastises NDC over Huudu’s “forced withdrawal”

People’s National Convention General secretary, Bernard Mornah, has criticised the NDC for Sacrificing competence at the altar of regional balance.

The PNC Secretary, who was speaking in an interview with GTV at the Baba Yara stadium where the NDC held their eighth National Delegates congress, was not enthused about Alhaji Huudu Yahaya’s last-minute withdrawal from the NDC chairmanship race.

He said, “though Alhaji Huudu Yahaya did not publicly give reasons for his withdrawal, the issues are already in the media”.

Alhaji Huudu Yahaya just minutes to the election withdrew from the race for the NDC’s chairmanship position.

Members of his campaign had told rawgist.com their candidate would never step down despite pressure from the Presidency. It seemed, however that they were not on the same chord with their candidate who has been hailed as a unifier within the party.

rawgist.com has learnt several of Alhaji Hudu Yahaya’s campaign team members are angry at the decision to withdraw especially when he (Alhaji Hudu Yahaya) had been tipped as a favourite in the race for the party’s chairmanship.
