Montie trio pardon is victory for rule of law – Lawyer Sosu

Human Rights lawyer Francis Sosu has commended President Mahama for releasing the infamous Montie trio.

Speaking on Atinka AM Drive with Ekourba Gyasi Tuesday, Lawyer Sosu releasing the Montie three the Montie three is another victory for the rule of law.

According to Lawyer Francis Sosu, the President acted based on the laws of the state.

He mentioned that he had always been of the view that it would be an affront of the freedom of speech if people should be imprisoned for their utterances.

He also stated that it’s a blessing to have a merciful president adding, “showing remorse and still getting a fine of GHC10000 plus one month jail term is till deterrent.’

“Hopefully these offenders have learnt their lessons and will go and sin no more,” he added.
