Moctar Bamba predicts convincing win for NPP

Takoradi, March 1, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win convincingly in the zongos nationwide in the 2008 general election, Alhaji Moctar Bamba, National organiser of the Nasara Club has predicted.

Inaugurating interim regional Nasara Club executive members at Takoradi, Alhaji Bamba said the battle lines had been drawn and that the NPP would win between 60 percent and 65 percent of the total votes in the Zongos.

He said the zongos did not belong to any political party and should not be regarded as a stronghold of any particular grouping. Alhaji Bamba assured Ghanaians that the 2008 would be peaceful, fair and transparent.

He said the election of Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo as presidential candidate of the NPP was symbolic to zongos because he lived closely to them at Nima in Accra.

The interim executive members were sworn into office by Alhaji Maiga, who urged the leaders, to adopt modern campaigning methods devoid of fights, misunderstanding and “self glory”.
