Missing State Cars: Task force embarks on failed search at Apsonic Auto Ltd for state cars

The presidential task force set up to retrieve state assets from the out-gone government has embarked on a failed trip to a warehouse belonging to Apsonic Automobile Company limited at Nungua in Accra on Thursday.

General Manager of the Company, Alhaji Rashid Adal in an exclusive interview with 3news said the task force said they were acting on orders from of the Chief of Staff.

The general manager, who was on his way to the flagstaff house to claim his documents which were left at the presidency to help ascertain the ownership of the cars in question at the time of the interview, has described the incident as unfortunate?

According to Alhaji Rashid Adal, he expects anyone in possession with a presidential car to submit it to avert the harassment of innocent citizens.

He said “I was in a business meeting at the Accra mall when my secretary called me and informed me of the task force entering my warehouse. I tried talking to the leader of the team but he refused so I quickly drove over to prevent them from going away with my cars.

“I was very angry because I expected them to ask for documents but the leader refused to listen insisting that they were asked from the flagstaff house to come for the cars so he wants the keys.”

He further indicated that “I then took the documents of all the cars and headed to the flagstaff house with them. I was asked to leave the documents behind for further examination, but later in the evening, I was called and the caller apologised and I was asked to come for my papers. I have been there but am told they are in a meeting”
