Missing Ghanaian found

BRIGHTON ? The Brighton Police Department has canceled the missing person status for a 20-year-old West African resident who came to Rochester to study and play soccer at Monroe Community College.

Thomas Fokuo of Ghana returned to Rochester by bus from New York City about 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. John Mallaber.

He was met by Police Department officials and college staffers and was cooperative with investigators. Fokuo is now with MCC staff. The Police Department closed its investigation when Fokuo was found.

Cynthia Cooper, MCC spokeswoman, said she has not spoken with Fokuo so she was unable to comment on why he left the area.
