Ministry compiling data on professionals

Accra, Sept. 26, GNA- The Ministry of Mines said on Friday that it is compiling data on Mining and Earth Science professionals in the country. The areas are Mining Engineers, Metallurgists, Minerals Processing Engineers, Mine Surveyors and Geologists.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Friday, Mr J. K. Smith-Amankwah, Public Relations Officer, of the Ministry said the objective is to have full directory of Ghanaian professionals in these categories.

Mr Smith-Amankwah said the professionals should submit detailed information of their curriculum vitae to the Ministry not later than Friday, October 10, 2003.

He added the Steering Committee on “African Mining Partnership”, chaired by Ghana, will hold a conference from October 17-21, this year in Accra.

Other members of the committee include Mali, Burundi and Ethiopia.
