Minister orders contractor to complete school project

Sefwi Wiawso (W/R), Feb.10, GNA – Papa Owusu Ankomah, Minister of Education, Science and Sports, on Thursday ordered Top Target, a contractor constructing a Girls’ Dormitory at Sefwi Wiawso Senior Secondary School to complete the project by the end of this month. The Minister who was a three-day tour of the Western Region, was inspecting government-funded projects under the upgrading of the schools programme.

Papa Ankomah said if the contractor fails to meet the deadline, the contract would be terminated and re-awarded. He said the Girls’ Dormitory should have been completed by December last year.

Papa Ankomah said contractors who unduly delay government projects would be sanctioned.

He said at the basic education level, the government intends to increase facilities instead of increasing the Capitation Grant.
