Minister meets department heads

Mr James Zuugah Tiigah, the Upper East Regional Minister, has appealed to heads of decentralized departments (HODs) to be proactive and drive the development agenda of the region forward.

He said lack of coordination among HOD had slowed down output and called for support from all to bring development to the region. Mr Tiigah said this when he interacted with HODs at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Bolgatanga on Thursday.

He appealed to HODs to liaise with each other and discuss common challenges so as to find ways to overcome their difficulties. Mr Tiigah said lack of maintenance had resulted in mal functioning of equipment and structures of organizations and departments which affected output.

Speaking on the Ebola disease, he expressed worry that the region had more unapproved routes than the two approved ones used by travelers and added that efforts were being made to increase collaboration between health and security personnel at the boarders.
