Minister donates television to GBC

Kumasi , Dec. 30, GNA- Mr. Dan Botwe, Minister of Information, has personally donated a colour television (TV) to the TV and Radio News Units of the Kumasi Branch of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).

Donation of the 21-inch TV, followed a pledge made by the Minister during his visit to the Kumasi Office of the GBC last April. Mr. Lawrence Asamoah, Ashanti Regional Director of the Information Services Department (ISD) who made the presentation on behalf of the Sector Minister, at the premises of the GBC in Kumasi on Friday, said besides the TV set, there were other amenities being worked out to enhance efficiency at the GBC.

The Minister said the GBC for a long time now has been informing and educating the public but the state of their infrastructure has not been the best of late, saying and this is seriously hampering their work.

Alhaji Amadu Yirisah, Ashanti Regional Administrator of the GBC who received the item commended the Minister for his concern for progress of the GBC and assured him that the TV and other items would be judiciously used.
