Minister commends Tarkwa Nsueam Assembly

Mr Julius Debrah, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, on Friday commended the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipal Assembly for completing the street naming exercise in the area ahead of schedule.

He said this exhibited hard work and dedication towards the on-going street naming exercise.

The minister gave the commendation when he inspected poles that had been erected as part of the exercise at Tarkwa.

He said the assembly was able to complete the exercise, which is supposed to end in September this year, through hard work and dedication.

Mr Debrah was happy that funds for the exercise had been judiciously used and appealed to the people to help protect the poles and plates bearing the names of the various streets in the Tarkwa Township.

He used the opportunity to encourage other assemblies to demonstrate the same level of commitment towards the exercise and mobilise funds from other sources to enable them to complete on schedule.

The minister was accompanied by Mrs Christina Kobinah, Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsueam, Nana Toku, National Democratic Congress Chairman for the Western Region, and officials from the Town and Country Planning Department.
