Minister Breaks A Glass In The Presence Of Konadu Rawlings

Deputy Minister of the Interior, Kobby Acheampong, on the night of June 4, broke a glass right in the presence of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

The incident occurred around 9.00pm at the lounge of the plush Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi, in the presence of Daily Guide. Kobby Acheampong, who was visibly shaken, dropped the glass from which he was drinking an alcoholic beverage.

The excessive noise created by the breaking glass drew the attention of most of the people that were at the lounge relaxing, including Nana Konadu and some of her supporters. It all began when Kobby Acheampong stormed the lounge alone, perhaps to gulp a few glasses of alcoholic beverages.

Unfortunately for Mr. Acheampong, where he had planned to sit had already been occupied by Nana Konadu and her fans. Mr. Acheampong entered the lounge in high spirits but his demeanor suddenly changed upon setting eyes on Nana Konadu.

Though he spotted the wife of the founder of the party which he claims to be a staunch member of, Mr. Acheampong refused to greet Nana Konadu as courtesy demands. The Deputy Interior Minister rather behaved as if there was a rift between him and the Rawlingses, as he dashed straight to another section of the lounge.

Mr. Acheampong then ordered an alcoholic beverage but in the course of taking it, he dropped his glass full of drink, drawing attention to himself. He still looked shaken after dropping the glass, perhaps due to the presence of Nana Konadu and her fans.

Mr. Acheampong, who was finding it difficult to enjoy his drinks, then left the lounge and sat in a corner near the car park. He later resurfaced at the lounge after Nana Konadu had left in the company of Francis Dodovi, a dyed-in-the-wool NDC activist in Kumasi.

Mr. Acheampong recently became the subject of verbal lashings by the media in Kumasi when he referred to Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John, secretary of the NPP, as ‘Kookooase Nkuraseni.’
