Mills leaves for ECOWAS Summit in Cape Verde

Accra, June 30, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills leaves Accra on Thursday, July 1, for Sal Island, in the Republic of Cape Verde to attend the 38th Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.

At a Special ECOWAS-Brazil Summit to be held on Saturday, July 3, President Mills would present a paper on “Development of the Private Sector Enterprises in West Africa”.

A release from the Office of the President, signed by Mr Koku Anyidoho, Head of Communications, said President Mills would host a luncheon for selected distinguished senior citizens at the Banquet Hall, in the forenoon before his departure as part of the Golden Jubilee celebration of Ghana’s Republican status.

Ghana became a Republic on July 1, 1960. President Mills is expected back home on Sunday, July 4.
