Mfantsiman Old Girls donate to hospital

Tema, Oct. 23, GNA – The Tema branch of the Old Girls Association of the Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School on Saturday donated 50 million cedis worth of food and other items to the Children’s Ward of the Tema General Hospital as part of their social responsibility.

The items included bed and cot sheets, fruits, re-chargeable lanterns, kerosene lanterns, loaves of bread and toys. The members numbering fifty also undertook a two-hour clean up of the surroundings of the Ward.

The President, Mrs Edwina Assan said as mothers the plight of children especially the sick and needy was their main concern and that the gesture was to show their motherly love and wished them speedy recovery to join their mates at school.

She said the Association was young but would occasionally support needy kids to enable them to feel the motherly touch. Mrs Gloria Eduse-Opoku, Nursing Officer, received the items on behalf of the children and appealed to other benevolent societies to continue supporting the Hospital as a morale booster.
