Mfantseman District Assembly to decide the fate of DCE

Saltpond (C/R), June 1, GNA – The Mfantseman District Assembly will hold an emergency meeting on Friday, June 3, to decide on the fate of Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur as the District Chief Executive. Mr Quainoo-Arthur, who has been acting as the District Chief Executive since January 7, was re-nominated by the President for approval by the assembly.

Mr Anthony Agyei-Kusi, the Presiding Member, announced this during a meeting addressed by the Mr Charles Bintim, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development at Saltpond on Tuesday. Mr Bintim was in the district as part of his familiarisation tour of the Central Region.

Mr Agyei-Kusi expressed the hope that the vote, ” will not go beyond one round.”

The Minister warned that people who might hatch plans to disrupt the programme would be reprimanded by the law enforcement agencies. He stressed: “Any trouble-maker caught will have him or herself to blame”. 01 June 05
