Mfantseman District Assembly supports Ghana Water Company

Saltpond (C/R), Jan 26, GNA – Mfantseman District Assembly has donated a Water Booster Pump to the Management of Ghana Water a Company to enable it boost supply to parts of the Saltpond township. Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, Mfantseman District Chief Executive (DCE), who presented the booster on behalf of the Assembly, said water supply to the Saltpond District Hospital, some bungalows and the Ankaful community, had been very irregular due to a breakdown of the pump at the booster station.

Mr Quainoo-Arthur said the Assembly decided to buy the pump for the Company as its contribution to improving the supply system. The DCE appealed to the people of the District to pay their taxes and levies promptly to enable the Assembly to honour its social responsibilities to the people promptly.

Mr Kwaku Asare-Kumi, the District Manager of Ghana Water Company, expressed gratitude to the Assembly for its support and assured people in the affected areas that their problem would be “a thing of the past” after the installation of the pump.

Mr Asare-Kumi said water supply in the district would be further enhanced when expansion work on the Baifikrom Water headworks, near Mankessim, was completed.
