Sekondi, Sept. 6, GNA- Mr. Philip K. Nkrumah, Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan (SAEMA) Chief Executive on Friday said the freedom of speech, prevailing in the country should be used responsibly. He said unplanned structures, reckless driving, littering and other social vices, contribute to indiscipline in society. Mr. Nkrumah was speaking at the passing out parade of 24 Metro-guards of the SAEMA at Sekondi.
He told the guards that they are expected to be agents of change to instil discipline in the metropolis.
“You are not policemen and you should not pretend to know or be able to carry out the duties of the Police”, he said.
Mr. Nkrumah cautioned them against disrespect to the public adding that the assembly will not hesitate to dismiss any guard found to be involved in acts that could tarnished the image of the Assembly. He appealed to the general public to co-operate with the guards to ensure order in the city.
