Methodist Church launch Newspaper

Effiakuma(WR), May 06, GNA – Effiakuma Circuit of Methodist Church of Ghana last Sunday launched the Wesleyan Voice Newspaper at Dunwell Methodist Chapel at Effiakuma near Takoradi.

The 12-page newspaper launched simultaneously in 12 other societies of the Circuit, is the only Christian Newspaper to be published and printed by a church in the Western Region.

The newspaper is to bridge the communication and information gap between the circuit, societies and offer a platform for members to freely share ideas, communicate and spread the Gospel. Very Reverend Edward Ofori Donkor, Superintendent Minister of the Circuit, launching the newspaper, said vision of the church was to spread the Word of God through the newspaper, offer alternative information that would meet the needs of members and also assist small and medium scale entrepreneurs within the church to advertise their products and services.

He said the newspaper which had a circulation of 4,000 was expected to be on the newsstands within Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis soon. Very Reverend Donkor said information and knowledge were vital for the survival of any society therefore, appealed to the congregations to contribute articles and stories to the newspaper. He said although the focus of the newspaper was evangelism, other activities within the church and societies as well as the social, health, economic, financial and other needs of members would be highlighted. Very Reverend Donkor urged Christians to make reading their habit and patronise the newspaper. .
