Methodist Bishop urges Christians to promote peace

The Right Reverend Professor Osei Safo Kantanka, Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, has advised Christians to use the occasion of Christ’s death to promote the unity of society and inspire all to look into the future with hope.

The significance of the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus to reconcile man with God, he said, must never be lost on them.

Delivering the sermon at a Good Friday service held at the Adum Wesley Cathedral, Rt. Rev. Prof Safo Kantanka urged the people to do away with vengeance and accept to forgive each other for their wrongs.

They should learn from the example of Christ, who “even at the point of death” forgave his accusers and killers“.

He counseled them to be law-abiding and disciplined, saying this was the way to go to build a better and secured society.

He said they should also uphold the values of hard work, integrity, transparency and accountability.
