Men’s Fellowship urged to campaign against divorce

Nkoranza (B/A) July 7, GNA – Mr. Thaddeus Kweku Onai-Sokah, Vice President of Catholic Men’s Fellowship of Sunyani Diocese has urged members to campaign against divorce and broken homes to check streetism amongst the youth.

He entreated members to collaborate with their wives in the Christian upbringing of their children to enable them to become responsible citizens.

Mr. Onai-Sokah, who is Assistant Headmaster of Berekum Secondary School was speaking at the inauguration of a branch of the Fellowship within St Martin De Porres Church at Nkoranza.

He called on the members to support their children to pursue higher education or learn vocations so they did not become liabilities as the increasing number of street children affected national development.

The Reverend Father Peter Fosu-Ahenkan, Parish Priest in-charge of the Catholic Church at Nkoranza said as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, “members of the Fellowship must lead lives above reproach and be role models in the communities”.

He initiated the members into the hands of God and asked them to maintain a cooperative spirit and be active in the activities of the Church to help promote the development of the Church.

Mr. Stephen Amo, President of the Nkoranza Fellowship commended the executives of the Sunyani Diocese branch for their efforts and encouragement towards the organization of the Nkoranza branch.

“It is the vision of the executives of the Nkoranza branch to visit and organize men in the local churches to form branches of the Fellowship”, he said.

Other executives of the Nkoranza Fellowship are Mr. PeterYaw Frimpong, Vice President, Mr. Patrick Barimah Owusu, Secretary, Mr. Beseah Badu, Assistant Secretary and Mr. Stephen Yaw Boateng, Organising Secretary.

The rest are Mr. John Yaw Kwarteng, Financial Secretary, Madam Faustina Kudom, Treasurer, Mr. Peter Asare, Porter and Mr. Stephen Opoku, Chaplain.
